Love Well Summer Camps

Don’t wait until there is a great need…

to help your tween build therapeutic tools and skills for school, relationships and life.

Take a proactive approach now!

There are TWO camp options for the summer of 2024!

Both camp sessions are for students entering 5th, 6th, and 7th grades.

(There are a couple exceptions to this rule so please reach out with any questions!)

Would your tween be a good fit for camp this summer?

  • Do they have big feelings and struggle to regulate emotions on their own?

  • Does your tween ask for help and you are either just starting counseling or don’t feel sure if it’s time?

  • Do you want your child to feel more equipped for their teen years?

  • Do you notice your child having down days or feeling/expressing overwhelm or worry regularly?

  • Do you want them to have practical skills and strategies for daily, healthy mental health?

  • Does your child spend too much time alone or refuse to be left alone? Are these extremes tough for either of you?

  • Do you notice your tween having a hard time identifying their emotions or expressing themselves with helpful words?

  • Does your tween have negative self-talk or a loud inner critic? Do they believe their unhelpful thoughts?

  • Do you want your tween to be more confident making new friends and feeling included in different groups?

  • Do they believe in themselves? Or believe that they get to decide who they are and who they will become?

  • Do you want them to learn how to slow down their thinking to focus more and live in the present moment?

If you answered yes to at least 2 of these questions, your child will benefit (and I believe, enjoy) this camp!

summer camp in Westerville, Ohio

Camp #2: June 10-13

Students entering 5th through 7th grade will spend 4 days using art and faith truths to create a therapeutic journal and shield. Arrows are the proactive life choices we make for the future and armor are the tools we use to combat struggles and trials along the way. The topics of growth will include self-esteem, emotional intelligence, managing expectations, coping with overwhelm and trials, leveraging strengths, healthy friendships, communication skills, value guided actions, creative practices and spiritual disciplines for joy and confidence.

Advantages of a Small Group/Camp experiences compared to Counseling1:1 Sessions:

1- Community! Meet new friends, practice social skills, hear others say ME TOO!

2- Growth! A lot gets covered quickly! 12 sessions of content happen in just 4 days.**

3- Financial Savings! 1:1 sessions are each $110. Camp is less than $40 an hour.

4- Fun! Therapeutic lessons, tools and skills are taught with creativity and fun. We laugh a lot and the time flies by!

5- Positive Experience! Counseling doesn’t seem so boring or scary after this week of learning and fun.

Camp Cost: $470.00 each

If you have an HSA or FSA, it can likely be used through my website.

Also, please reach out if you’d like to set up a payment plan or use Venmo.

**Sometimes meeting with a counselor individually is still the best choice. The treatment and goals are more personal. The individualized attention can also allow for quick, specific growth. If you are unsure what would be best for your tween, please reach out to Sarah!

These summer therapeutic camps are being offered by Sarah Tenney, Licensed Professional Counselor and owner of Love Well LLC located in Uptown Westerville.

Sarah and teen helpers will create a fun and safe environment for students to learn new tools and skills to help support their overall mental health. Both weeks will include creativity (art, activities, games), therapeutic teaching times and small group sessions.

The main goal of both weeks is to help tween students feel more prepared for the upcoming teen years and give them a foundation of tools and skills to help them proactively understand and care for their own mental health during this formative time of development.
